Disabling Auditing in BOBI Platform 4.1

Good Afternoon,

I have a small deployment of BOBI 4.1 that uses SQL Server 2008 Express for the CMS and Audit databases. This deployment has been running without significant issue for about 2 years now however recently the disk that held the local databases ran out of space.

I discovered that while the CMS database was only 78 Mb the audit database had exceeded 10 GB. It seems that I had not configured auditing to delete older events. SQL Express has a database size limit of 10 Gb.

Unfortunately now I cannot actually change those settings as the CMS is unable to connect to the Auditing datastore, I suspect due to the Db size limit. When I select the Auditing settings in the CMC there is a warning at the top of the screen,

Warning: There is no connection to the Auditing Data Store from the CMS BOBIAPP01.CentralManagementServer.

My question is, can I disable auditing, delete the audit database, re enable auditing and then of course set the retention settings to something more reasonable?

Any help you can provide is greatly appreciated!

Regards,

Christian
